What this site is
BadmintonLabs is an independent reference site that catalogs badminton equipment specs from manufacturer catalogs and links out to independent retailers who carry each model. We do not sell, ship, or stock any of the products listed. Every purchase goes through the retailer you click on, on the retailer's own site, under that retailer's terms.
Brand and retailer names — nominative fair use
We use brand and retailer names (Yonex, Li-Ning, Victor, Babolat, Ashaway, Apacs, Maxbolt, and others) under the doctrine of nominative fair use: identifying products by their actual names is the only way to compare them honestly.
BadmintonLabs is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the listed brands or retailers. All trademarks and trade names are the property of their respective owners.
User accounts
The optional account ("My Bag") uses a magic-link sign-in: you enter an email address, we send a one-time link, clicking it signs you in for thirty days. We never store passwords. Read the Privacy page for what data the account stores and how to delete it.
You agree not to: share your sign-in link with others, sign in using an address that isn't yours, attempt to access another user's account, or use automated tools to mass-register accounts.
Email notifications & opt-out
Stock-back-in alerts and 90-day restring reminders are opt-in. Every alert email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Sign-in emails are transactional and stop the moment you delete your account.
We comply with CAN-SPAM (US), CASL (Canada), and PECR (UK). Our mailing address appears in the footer of every commercial email.
Recommendations are opinions
The racquet, string, and grip recommender outputs are derived from objective specs (weight, balance, flex, trait scores) plus widely- known community signals. They are opinions, not buying advice. Your coach, local stringer, or club pro knows your game better than a comparison page does. We are not liable for fit, performance, or satisfaction with anything you buy after using a recommendation.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose.
- Scrape, mass-download, or otherwise abuse the site or its endpoints — including the live-shipping quote API.
- Attempt to access non-public parts of the site (admin, other users' data, etc.).
- Use automated tools to subscribe many addresses to stock alerts, or to flood the recommender.
- Reproduce site copy, layout, illustrations, or compiled data sets without permission.
We may rate-limit, block, or terminate access for violations without notice.
Retailer removal on request
We surface publicly visible listings from independent retailers to help shoppers find the right product. If you operate a retailer whose listings appear on this site and you would prefer they did not, email hello@badmintonlabs.com from a domain-matching address with a request to remove your store. We will remove your listings within 5 business days of receipt and send a confirmation. No questions asked, no friction.
DMCA / takedown
If you are a copyright owner and believe content on this site infringes your rights, send a DMCA notice to dmca@badmintonlabs.com including:
- The URL of the alleged infringing material on this site.
- The specific copyrighted work alleged to be infringed (with a link to where it's normally hosted).
- Your contact information.
- A sworn statement that you are the rights holder (or authorized to act on their behalf) and that the use is not authorized.
We will respond within the statutory window. Counter-notices may be submitted to the same address.
No warranty
This site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the site will be available without interruption.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, BadmintonLabs and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site — including purchasing decisions made on the basis of any information shown here. Aggregate liability for any direct claim is limited to USD $50.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BadmintonLabs and its operators against any third-party claim arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally must be brought in the state or federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be called out on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
